DREAM ABOUT A DREAM
SPRING/BREAK ART SHOW, NEW YORK, NY 2017
This installation, Dream About A Dream, is a specific romanticized autoportrait and a still but active contemplation of the self in its intimate and passionate state, where the mind becomes dominated by senses. Curated by Coco Dolle, Dream About A Dream brings to mind dancers training in front of the mirror and serves as an expression of glorified self-awareness and self-idolization, relating to voyeuristic tendencies manifested nowadays in various forms of social relations. Mounted in the window overlooking Times Square for the 2017 edition of Spring/Break Art Show, this exhibition addresses the boundaries of our virtual and physical private/public spaces and exibitionistic pseudo intimacies.
In other iterations of this theme, the included photographs were printed onto bed sheets and displayed over a metal bed frame, providing a pseudo domestic context for these ideas.
